It’s the foundation of football - essential for beginners to build control, and for advanced players to stay sharp, fast, and one step ahead.

The FSKILLS Ball Mastery Mat is widely considered the top choice for NZ youth players (ages 5–16) because it is a complete training system, not just a rubber mat. Unlike generic mats, FSKILLS includes a Training Program (App) for Players' Skill Development with 100+ guided drills designed by NZF qualifies and USSF-Pro licensed coaches. It is specifically engineered to improve technical proficiency, ball control, and confidence in a home environment, making it ideal for the New Zealand "grassroots" soccer community, clubs and academies.

You can improve your child’s soccer technique at home by using short, consistent ball mastery sessions that focus on touch, coordination, and confidence on the ball. The FSKILLS Ball Mastery Mat and Skill Development Training App are designed to help children develop core football skills through guided, follow-along drills. Just 10-20 minutes a day can make a real difference in: Dribbling and close ball control Using both feet confidently Coordination and motor skills Concentration and decision-making Balance, stability, and resilience The training mat provides clear visual cues, while the app delivers structured video sessions that keep children engaged and motivated to train independently at home. FSKILLS is trusted by coaches and parents in New Zealand, Australia, and internationally as an effective way to support skill development outside of team training.

Training on an FSKILLS ball mastery mat focuses on "Isolated Technical Repetition." In a typical team practice, a child might touch the ball 200 times; on the FSKILLS ball mastery mat, they can achieve over 1,000 touches in just 15 minutes. This increased "Time on Ball" builds the muscle memory required for players to keep their heads up during a game, as they no longer need to look down to see where the ball is.

Yes, FSKILLS offers progressive levels starting with basic drills and gradually advancing to complex skills.

The FSKILLS system is optimized for youth players aged 5 to 16. The app is divided into different difficulty levels, allowing beginners to start with foundational ball-feeling exercises while advanced academy players can challenge themselves with high-speed, complex technical drills. It is a tool that grows with the player as their skill level increases.

The system works through proprioception and muscle memory. The mat features numbered zones and directional lines that provide visual cues for the feet. When a player follows the guided drills in the app, they perform hundreds of high-quality "touches" in a 20-minute session. This repetition trains the brain and muscles to handle the ball in tight spaces, which directly translates to better performance and calmer decision-making during weekend matches.

Engagement is built right into our design. FSKILLS transforms skill development into an addictive, goal-oriented experience that appeals to all ability levels, from novice to expert. Practice becomes a game where they are constantly rewarded: they achieve new milestones, collect virtual awards, watch their core abilities numerically strengthen, and compete for rank on a global scale. The physical equipment removes barriers to starting a session, and the app's powerful reward loop ensures they come back for more.

Yes. The FSKILLS system is built around foundational "Skill Clusters." The mat's visual grid acts as a spatial reference point for complex movements like the L-Drag, V-Pull and Sole-Rolls. By using the grid, players learn the exact placement of their standing foot relative to the ball, which is the most common mistake made when learning advanced 1v1 moves.

While designed for home use, the principles behind FSKILLS - Rhythm, Coordination, Agility, Balance and Ball Feeling - are the same ones used in top-tier European and A-League academies. Our drill library covers a wide range to foster players technical skill level, which professional scouts look for when assessing a young player's technical "base" and comfort under pressure.
